T and Thea.

We met on twitter about a year ago and instantly clicked over our shared love of television and getting on each other’s last nerve. We would spend hours sharing our unrequested tv opinions on the timeline to anyone who would listen. Flash forward about six months later we realised we both also really loved film and our first real life meeting ended up with us watching Jojo Rabbit together (and having a shit meal talking about our equally shit dating lives) and we became cinema buddies. We also started creating book threads on twitter where we would share what we had been reading and give each other book recommendations. And that’s pretty much how we ended up here, we thought we are always sharing our opinions on shows, movies and books unprovoked, why not make ourselves a tiny corner of the internet where we could really dive into these areas and put into words the constant conversations we were having about them? and so Small, Silver and Hardback (a name that Thea’s sister says sounds like a porno) was born.

ABOUT T.

I currently work as a doctor but I spend the majority of my time outside of work watching films and TV shows and reading, then proceeding to scream my opinions into the void or at anyone who will listen. I’ll generally watch anything (within reason) but I’ll be honest, my tastes tend to fall within the category of the high-brow, pretentious stuff; meaning I’m a bit of a snob but I try to not be annoying about it.

Some of all my time favourites (just some, there’s way more than this):

Films: Moonlight, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and Maborosi

TV shows: Hannibal, The Knick and The Wire

Books: Giovanni’s Room, The Year of Magical Thinking and The Bluest Eye

ABOUT THEA.

By day I Freelance in PR & Marketing at night I share my unrequested opinions on twitter. I am the ‘waiting for TV series to be either at the halfway point or finished so I can lie in bed and binge it’ type. I am a lover of the fantastical so anything sci-fi to fantasy no matter how terrible it may be I am down to watch/read it at least once. When it comes to movies for every one well directed brilliantly acted movie i have to watch at least 2 shit ones to maintain the worlds balance (much to T’s disappointment).

Some of all my time favourites (just some, there’s way more than this):

Films: Coyote Ugly, Moonlight and Farming

TV shows: Queen Sugar, The Good Place and Charmed

Books: If Beale Street Could Talk, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe and A Streetcar named Desire (Technically this a play)
